Amazing trivia

Amazing trivia

Just seen where Mike Trout for the second time in his carreer has 10 homers and 5 sb's in his teams first 25 games. Only one other player has ever done this and I will admit that I never would have guessed this guy. He's not someone you think of when it comes to stolen bases.

Re: Amazing trivia

Wild guess: George Herman Ruth

Re: Re: Amazing trivia

No , about 50 years later. Like I said , you wouldn't think of this guy for the stolen base part.

Re: Amazing trivia

Gary Sheffield? I know he had a really fast start when he won the MVP in the mid 90's and he was a pretty good baserunner.

Re: Re: Amazing trivia

No , go back to the 70's, . It will amaze you when you here who it is. He's a hall of famer. That's my last clue.

Re: Amazing trivia

Trout has now done it twice. The only other to do it twice is Reggie Jackson.. But the question talked about another player who has "ever" done this. That list includes:

2020 Fernando Tatis Jr.
2000 Barry Bonds
1999 Fernando Tatís
1997 Larry Walker
1996 Brady Anderson
1995 Mo Vaughn
1987 Eric Davis
1922 Ken Williams

Re: Re: Amazing trivia

I believe the question was the only other player to have done this means done it twice like Mike.

Re: Re: Amazing trivia

I look forward to Fernando Tatis III accomplishing this feat in 2040!

Re: Amazing trivia

Reggie, wow. Yeah I would not have guessed that without looking it up.

Re: Re: Amazing trivia

I saw the answer this morning on MLB Central. Love that show.

Re: Amazing trivia

I would never have guessed Reggie, but after the fact I do recall that he had some speed when he first came up. Like a lot of guys, the speed faded away as the power grew.

Re: Re: Amazing trivia

Reggie was a hofer but he also was really full of himself. Can't remember who said it but one of the best quotes I heard was that when you unwrapped the reggie bar , it told you how good it was. Would love to have seen how things would have come out if billy and him hadn't been broken up on that monday night game. Billy may have been small be he fought like the devil. I would pay money to travel back in time and see Billy Martin and Earl weaver go at it , that would be a good one lol
