Deadball Leagues

I was thinking of joining a Deadball Quickdraft Autoleague. But when I went to draft I found that the pitchers I was being offered were much worse than the ones that the teams that already drafted had picked up. Like the teams that already drafted had all 90s, 80s and 70s for their entire 10 pitcher staff while I got offered only 10s, 20s and 30s for my final 5 pitchers. I know there is a disadvantage to drafting later but it seems really bad in these leagues.

The same thing just happened to me in Best of 1991. The Quick Draft is supposed to be designed so that order doesn't matter, but it clearly does.

Deadball is hard to judge until all teams have drafted. Until everyone has turned their SPs into RPs, you don't really know the true rank of your RPs. They will likely jump higher. I just tried a deadball draft as the 5th to last team and was not offered any pitcher below 50, but yes, the Quick Draft is harder later for the leagues like deadball where a few pitchers really stand out as the best ones.
