Mets...
The Mets have honored Bud Harrelson with a patch on their uniform this year. He passed back in January and would have been 80. I live in Fla now but was born and raised in Ct. I am a KC fan but the Mets have always been my #2. #1 in the NL. My first 3 big league games were at Shea stadium and the first was in 1969 when they won the WS. The Amazin' Mets!
As I watch the game today I am reminded of #3 Bud playing SS. he wasn't a great hitter. If he hit a HR it was an event. I remember him fighting Pete Rose in the 73 playoffs before losing to the A's in the WS.
Today brought back great memories of being a kid watching the Mets on WOR TV channel 9. Lindsey Nelson, Bob Murphy , and Ralph Kiner. The game was followed by Kiner's Corner. LOl.
