Surprize Bunt
Is there any way to make this more "realistic' ?? Seems like the sim allows this tactic to happen more then it should, and at times when a team would never use it. The number of times I am seeing teams do this with 2 outs is kinda rediculous. Managers in real life are not going to bunt with 2 outs and a runner on 1st a whole lot more then bunt, yet seems like the sim is having teams bunt more lately with this situation, and it's not something you see happening in real life, so why is it so predominant here ??

@Joey, it's been a long standing debate. In fact, as a result of the debate, a feature was added to allow Custom Leagues to drop the frequency of surprise bunts, but it did not apply to Auto Leagues.
The original logic way back was that PC 1) was a site spanning many eras, and 2) the surprise bunt gave players with speed some value in these brutally tough leagues where it was hard to have value as a high-average singles hitter.
I think there's a strong argument for reducing it, but like all things in PC, change is going to come with debate (see the recent FIRE change! :))

Unfortunately bunts for hits are a miss used weapon...

Lee Mazilli : 35 for 40
Don Blasingame : 66 for 77
Steve Garvey : 46 fot 56
Nelie Fox : 35 for 43
Don Kessinger : 44 for 60
Rod Carew : 91 for 126
Vada Pinson : 31 for 44
Tommy Harper : 40 for 57
Pete Rose : 65 for 93
Guys like Brett Butler, Juan Pierre, Otis Nixon, Lofton, Carlos Gomez would add more than 25 to 30 points to their batting average using this weapon. Why remove this weapon ? Because you don't like it ?

But what they did (at specific times) is not the same as what happens randomly (too often) in a sim with no defense strategy.
And I’m certain no one said remove it.

Exactly, it's not the number of attempted bunt base hits it's when they happen , but gotta remember, this is still a computer playing a game.
Things will never be 100% realistic .

One question, if you set all players to NO on bunting does that take precedence?
