No rested SPs

No rested SPs

So, I got crushed last game... SP exited early, bullpen ineffective, and a starter was brought in to finish game. So now I have not rested SPs and the bullpen is already pretty used up. Only game 6 of the season, so I can't just pick up a quick SP to fill in... so what happens? Who starts?

Re: No rested SPs

The Waiver wire is open - and you could have already claimed a Starting Pitcher - has A Tired Starter will be used, afterwards I would pick up a spot starter immediately even if it's only for the one start, but would probably keep him regardless as my long guy

Re: No rested SPs

Unfortunately happens a lot at beginning of season, because all your SPs are rested and can come in relief. Later in season they are always needing rest when it's not their turn and so cant come in and mess up the rotation. Definitely want to grab that 6th SP as soon as you can.

Re: Re: No rested SPs

Someone else recently brought this up as an issue, it's worth fixing in some way - maybe during the first 10 games better to not bring in the healthy SP in a blowout or something like that.

I have it on my list to do something about it.

Re: Re: No rested SPs

No, actually that's the problem -- during the first 10 games I can only pick up one player after each game... the next game will be played before waivers runs again.

Re: Re: No rested SPs

Yeah, I usually grab a guy and put him in my long reliever role to avoid just this type of situation -- but since it was game six, hadn't had a chance to do that yet.

Re: No rested SPs

Still wondering, though, who the heck is going to pitch for me?

Re: Re: No rested SPs

The SP needing the least rest.

Click on Schedule and you can see who the sim is going to use.

Actually, if SP are all tired, schedule shows the SP at top of rotation, even if they just pitched. But it's the one with the least rest needed that pitches.
